My Week So Far

This week has been insane. I’ve started a new job – which is great. I’m happy to be working. I’m happy to be paid to be working. And on top of getting paid, I’m getting paid to write. It’s technical writing, but still writing is writing and a job is a job. And it’s a job I can do while sitting on my couch in my pajamas. I couldn’t be happier.

But this week, things just sort of conspired to happen all at once. I’m starting this new job, the band has a gig playing at a farmer’s market, and I’m teaching a class on Greek Mythology this Saturday. I’ve spent the last couple days reviewing my notes, practicing my presentation, telling myself that I can do this. And then telling myself that there’s no way I can do this. What were you thinking Emily? How did you get yourself into this? How are you in any way qualified to be doing this?

And then I take a deep breath, go over my presentation and think, Oh yeah, because I know this stuff. And I care about it. And I want to share what I know about the Olympians with other people. And then I know that everything will go just fine on Saturday.

In other news, I’m going  to start posting one of my stories on the site, starting hopefully in mid July. I’ll try and post a new chapter every week. So, keep an eye out for it.

Thank you for reading.
