Highlights From Maine Lobster Festival 2015

Last night we played at the Maine Lobster Festival for what was hopefully the first of many times to come. It was a total blast.

Going into the show I had no idea what to expect. Would we have an audience? Would we pull of the fun, energetic vibe we were going for? Would we be able to maintain that energy throughout two hours of straight playing?

Answer: Yes.

We had a great audience. Some people stayed and watched the entire two hours, others drifted in and out. They clapped along during “Gettin’ My Redemption” which was awesome. They sang along to “Wagon Wheel”. They asked questions in typical Rockland audience fashion. They participated in their own entertainment. And they bought our merch! we sold more CDs than we’ve ever sold in a single day and more Tshirts than we’ve ever sold, period. (I think it helped that we lowered the price of the T-shirts to five dollars or free with a CD. Seriously if you want a Miners Creek T-shirt, let me know I can hook you up, or you can come on out to the Local Flavor Fare at the Rockport Market Place on Rt.1 from 2-6pm and buy one of your very own).

Anyway, I think yesterday was a really big step for the band. I think we were the most relaxed we’ve ever been and for my part I made fewer mistakes than I’ve ever made before. I think that if we continue to work on being relaxed and having fun on stage the better our act will become.

Today will be a good chance to continue that progress. I mentioned before that we’re playing at the Local Flavor Fare today. This is an awesome event that Miners Creek is helping to put on. There will be five local bands, local artists and vendors, a farmers market, and a beer and wine tasting. Oh, and I almost forgot the pig roast. There’s going to be a pig roast. So if you’re looking for something fun to do, come on out.
